19th June 11
Let me introduce you to my great grandfather from my mother’s side, a father’s day special… Haha! Lol no, I’m just kidding. He’s Jules Dalou, a French sculptor in the 19th century. I don’t really know much about him, but we were asked to draw a master’s work from our Figure Drawing class. I chose this. Original work is by Alphonse Legros. I chose graphite since it’s by far the easiest medium around, and I love graphite. It’s not that accurate, but I’m happy since it’s my first time to draw hair. Haha! My first plate for Visual Communication. Back to basics! Jules Dalou 2011 12 in x 18 in Graphite on canson paper |
