First plate using ink and I immediately fell in love with it. I used both sides of the bristol board - matte and the smooth side. I used a black Parker Quink for this one.

Some time last year, me and some of my block mates went to this pretty dope exhibit featured in one of my professor’s curated exhibit when we last came in Sining Kamalig, Gateway. Good thing, I saw the flyer once again while I was browsing photos in my camera.

This, by far, was the coolest exhibit I’ve even been to. I swear, anybody who would go to see it would never want to leave the place after roaming around. If you could only see our faces while we were looking at the paintings, hindi maipinta mukha namin. Lol.

It’s a show intended to complement the “more serious” exhibition Experience the Face, featuring some eighteen artists interpreting the title Looks Kill as “Hanep, pamatay sa gander!” and “Pre, drop-deap gorgeous!” and “Killer Looks” and “Things that kill.” Nevertheless, experience these faces, too!

I totally agree with the above statement. Mini-heart attack ongoing.

I’m not really a fan of hyperrealism, but these paintings got me dumbfounded. One thing I love about the exhibit is the concept of their works. I like the agressive attitude with a bit of eeriness in it. Shit, I want to paint something like these.

These are just some of the paintings in the exhibit that I really like. If I had a million dollars, I’d probably buy every painting in the gallery. At the moment, I’ll just be catching inspiration from those artists. Someday, I will be as good as them!

Oh and by the way, we will be doing our very own bock exhibit here around February or March! I’m so stoked.
